Hollywood, Florida - Tab Alleman has joined the staff of RealMetros.com, the multi-million-dollar contextual commerce firm in Hollywood, Florida. As lead programmer, Tab is charged with the continuous maintenance and upgrading of the RealMetros site, which attracts more than two million unique visitors each month, and has captured one percent of the total on-line hotel reservations market for the past two years. He will ensure the site can handle the growing visitor and dollar volume, as well as further diversification and expansion.
The Lake Charles, Louisiana, native earned a bachelor of arts in music from Louisiana State University in 1989, and a master of arts in music from East Carolina University in 1991. He tested and earned Benchmark Certification in XML in July of 2001, and holds a private pilot certificate.
Alleman joined Lens Express, Inc. in 1993, initially performing customer service and online customer support. In 1995 he became the company's first webmaster, a position he held for more than four years.
From 1999 to 2002, as project manager and primary web programmer for AVweb, an aviation website and one subsidiary of Internetworks Publishing, Inc., Tab set up and maintained an auction site; a pay-per-use flight explorer project; and the corporate intranet.
Serving as project manager and programmer from 2000 to 2001 for the e-commerce company Autobex.com, Alleman developed an intranet-based workflow and content management tool, plus a modular version for sale to external customers, with a stand-alone installation program and client server.
